Singapore Supreme Court

Singapore hotels

The Supreme Court and City Hall of Singapore was built in 1939 and features a classic design of Corinthian columns and sprawled interiors that have gorgeous murals all around that were created by the Italian artist Cavalieri Rodolfo Nolli.

The intricate details and fantastic design make it one of the most beautiful buildings that the British build during their occupation of Singapore.

Alongside the Singapore Supreme Court is the City Hall of Singapore which was built in 1929 and was the site of the Japanese surrender to Lord Mountbatten near the end of World War II in 1945. Currently the Supreme Court of Singapore and City Hall are closed to visitors unfortunately; however the architecture of the buildings alone is worth stopping by to gaze upon. In order to get there take the MRT to the City Hall station and walk towards the Padang on St. Andrews Road.
